Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) whether only four lakh houses were completed against the
target of 84 lakh houses till January 2025 in the year 2024-25
in the country under the Pradhan MantriAwasYojanaGramin
(PMAY-G), State-wise including Rajasthan;
(b) if so, the reason for such vast difference in achieving the said
target, State-wise; and
(c) the steps taken by the Government to expedite the
construction works to achieve the annual and total targets of
the said Scheme, State-wise along with the details thereof?

(a) & (b): In order to achieve the target of “Housing for All” in
rural areas, the Ministry of Rural Development is implementing
Pradhan MantriAwaasYojana- Gramin (PMAY-G) with effect from
1st April, 2016 to construct 2.95 crore houses by providing
assistance to eligible rural households with basic amenities by
March 2024. The Union Cabinet has approved the proposal for
“Implementation of the Pradhan MantriAwaasYojana- Gramin
(PMAY-G) during FY 2024-25 to 2028-29 for construction of 2 crore
additional rural houses.
The targets under the new phase for the FY 2024-25 were
allocated to the States in the month of September 2024 after
approval of the Union Cabinet for continuation of the scheme
beyond March 2024. During the financial year 2024-25, under

& UTs, 64.70 lakh houses were sanctioned and 10.74 lakh were
completed. As per the guidelines, the prescribed timeline for
construction of a house is 12 months from the date of
sanction. The state wise number of houses sanctioned and
completed under PMAY-G including Rajasthan during FY 2024-25 is
given in Annexure.
(c): The following steps are taken by the Government to expedite
the completion of houses to achieve the annual and total targets
under PMAY-G:
i. Timely allocation of targets to the States/UTs and release of
adequate funds.
ii. Regular review of progress at the level of Ministry.
iii. Launch of PMAY-G Dashboard for monitoring and supervision
of the scheme.
iv. Regular follow ups with the State to ensure release of central
and state share of funds and provision of land to landless
beneficiaries in rural areas.
v. Awards to the best performing States/UTs, districts and
blocks based on performance index dashboard, thereby
creating healthy competition and motivation among the
States/UTs for achieving the set targets.
