SHIVAJI BANDAPPA KALGE: Will the Minister of CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has made any assessment of the quantity of chemical fertilizers being used by different States across the country; and (b) if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise, particularly in Maharashtra? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS (SMT. ANUPRIYA PATEL) (a) & (b) Before the commencement of each cropping season, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (DA&FW), in consultation with all the State Governments, assesses the requirement of fertilizers. On the basis of month-wise & state-wise projections given by DA&FW, Department of Fertilizers allocates adequate quantities of fertilizers to States by issuing monthly supply plan. Further, the information regarding the requirement, availability and sales of fertilizers viz.
