SHRI HARISH CHANDRA MEENA: Will the Minister of FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES be pleased to state: (a) whether it is a fact that despite schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana, Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Food Processing and the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, the processing capacity for fruits, vegetables and dairy products in the country is still extremely inadequate compared to the total production, leading to price losses for farmers; (b) if so, the annual targets fixed, investments made and sector-specific action plan formulated by the Government to increase this capacity; (c) whether it is also a fact that in semi-arid States like Rajasthan, the processing of millets, pulses, oilseeds, fruits and dairy-based products is limited due to inadequate cold-chain, warehousing and food park infrastructure and if so, the details thereof; (d) the details of approved, ongoing and completed projects along with the grants released thereunder, district-wise; and (e) the present status of operational and proposed food processing clusters, millet hubs and cold storage projects in Tonk-Sawai Madhopur Lok Sabha Constituency including the details of sanctioned funds, employment generated and benefits accrued to farmers? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES (SHRI RAVNEET SINGH) (a) & (b): For overall growth and development of food processing sector including augmenting the preservation and processing capacity in the sector, Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) has been incentivizing setting up/ upgradation of Food Processing Industries through Central Sector Umbrella Scheme Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY), Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Food Processing Industry (PLISFPI) and Centrally sponsored PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme across the country and thereby increasing the income of the farmers. As on 31.12.2025, financial assistance of Rs. 6650.22 crore has been released under component schemes of PMKSY, financial assistance of Rs. 4316.04 crore has been released under PMFME and incentive of Rs. 2162.55 crore has been released under PLISFPI across the country. (c) & (d): MoFPI does not establish food processing units on its own. However, it provides financial assistance to eligible entrepreneurs for establishing food processing industry including processing of millets, pulses, oilseeds, fruits and dairy-based product, through itsthree schemes as per related scheme guidelines. These schemes are demand driven and is implemented across the country including Rajasthan. Mega Food Park and Creation of Infrastructure for Agro-processing Clusters (APC) components of PMKSY are aimed at development of such Industries in clusters. As on 31.12.2025, MoFPI has approved 2 Mega Food Parks, 2 APC and 14 Cold chain projects under PMKSY in the state of Rajasthan.
