(a) whether it is a fact that the average amount of outstanding loan per agricultural
household is Rs. 74,121;
(b) the details of the five States which have the highest amount of outstanding loan
per agricultural household as of 1 November 2025; and
(c) the number of farmers, agriculture labourers who committed suicide due to high
debt in the last ten years, year-wise?

(a) & (b): As per Situation Assessment Survey (SAS) of Agricultural Households
conducted by Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) during NSS
77th round (January, 2019 – December, 2019) in the rural areas of the country, the
average amount of outstanding loan per agricultural household across the country is Rs.
74,121. Since the last survey of agricultural households was conducted in 2019, the
extent of amount of outstanding loan per agricultural household as of 1 November 2025
is not available. However, as per the latest SAS, the five States having the highest
average outstanding loan per agricultural household during the agricultural year July 2018
to June 2019 are given below:
