Ayurswasthya Yojana

Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state:
(a) the implementation status of the Ayurswasthya Yojana in the country, State/UT-wise,
particularly in Bharatapur, Nabarangpur and Keonjhar Parliamentary constituencies;
(b) the number of Centres of Excellence (CoE) that have been upgraded or established under the
Scheme in the country, State/UT-wise including the said Parliamentary constituencies;
(c) the number of Public Health Initiative (PHI) projects funded for education, research and
capacity-building purposes, particularly PHI projects operating in the Pali Parliamentary
constituency including those approved and implemented in the said Parliamentary constituency;
(d) the details of the funds sanctioned/allocated and released under the said scheme during the
last three years, State/UT-wise, particularly in the said Parliamentary constituencies, yearwise
and Institution-wise;
(e) whether the Government has undertaken any assessment of the Institutional excellence,
research output and public health impact achieved under the said scheme in the said
Parliamentary constituencies and if so, the details thereof; and
(f) whether any projects, CoE, PHI activities or Institutional upgradations have been sanctioned,
established or funded under the Scheme in North East Delhi Parliamentary constituency and if
so, the details thereof including the funds allocated and released?

(a) to (f) A Statement is laid on the table of the House.
1THE STATEMENT REFERRED IN REPLY TO LOK SABHA STARRED
QUESTION NO. 320 FOR 13TH MARCH 2026
(a) Ministry of Ayush is implementing a Central Sector Scheme namely Ayurswasthya
Yojana having 02 components viz. i) Ayush and Public Health and ii) Centre of
Excellence (CoE). The Scheme is being implemented from FY 2021-22 and valid upto
March 2026. The scheme is being implemented across the Country and is not specific
to any State/UT. Further, under the Ayurswasthya Yojana, no eligible proposals have
been received from any Organisation/Institute situated in Bharatapur, Nabarangpur and
Keonjhar Parliamentary constituencies.
(b) Under Centre of Excellence component of Ayurswasthya Yojana, total of 28
institutes/organizations have been supported for upgradation as Centre of Excellence
(CoE) since inception of the scheme. The details of the CoE projects supported under
the Scheme are at Annexure-I.
(c) The main aim of the Ayush and Public Health component of the Ayurswasthya Yojana
is to roll out of authentic classical Ayush interventions with following objectives: -
• To promote Ayush intervention for community health care.
• To demonstrate advantages of Ayush health care in public health.
• To support for implementing Sustainable Development Goal-2 (SDG 2) and
Sustainable Development Goal -3 (SDG 3) through integrating Ayush system.
• Documentation of the efficacy of Ayush systems through Ayush interventions in
various public health issues which can be taken up in larger scale for
implementation in national health programmes.
Under the Ayush and Public Health component of the Ayurswasthya Yojana, 25
projects have been supported since inception of the scheme. Under the above
component, there is a provision for training and capacity building of health care
providers on Ayush medicines. Further, no eligible proposals have been received from
any organisation/Institute situated in Pali Parliamentary constituency under the
Ayurswasthya Yojana.
(d) & (e) Under the Ayurswasthya Yojana, funds are not sanctioned/allocated State/UT wise.
The details of the funds sanctioned/allocated and released to the various
Institutes/Organisations under Ayurswasthya Yojana during the last three years (i.e.
From FY 2022-23 to FY 2024-25), is placed at Annexure II. Further, no eligible proposals
have been received from any Organisation/Institute situated in the Bharatapur,
Nabarangpur, Keonjhar and Pali Parliamentary constituency. Ministry of Ayush has
2conducted evaluation of the scheme by a third party namely Quality Council of India
(QCI). In its evaluation report, QCI has concluded that the scheme fits perfectly with
India's national goals of providing affordable, accessible healthcare for all citizens under
the vision of Viksit Bharat.
(f) Under the Ayurswasthya Yojana, the financial assistance is being provided to the eligible
organisations as per the provision of Scheme guidelines and funds are not released State/UT-
wise. Further, no eligible proposals have been received from any organisation/Institute
situated in North East Delhi Parliamentary constituency under the Ayurswasthya Yojana.
However, the details of the projects supported under the Ayurswasthya Yojana in Delhi are
placed at Annexure III.
