Ayurveda Colleges in Tamil Nadu

Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the Ayurveda colleges in Tamil Nadu along with the strength of the students
thereof, college-wise;
(b) the details of colleges with post graduate Ayurveda course in Tamil Nadu;
(c) the details of the Ayurveda Hospitals in Tamil Nadu, location-wise; and
(d) the details of the Ayurveda doctor's in Tamil Nadu, along with the vacancies thereof,
college-wise, hospital-wise and location-wise?

(a) & (b) The details of the Ayurveda Colleges in the State of Tamil Nadu, along with the
strength of the students and Postgraduate Ayurveda course are annexed as Annexure-I.
(c) The Government of India implements a Centrally Sponsored Scheme, namely the
National Ayush Mission (NAM). Under the guidelines of NAM as per the proposals
received through State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs) from State Government of Tamil
Nadu, three Integrated Ayurveda Hospitals have been approved. Further, the aforesaid
Ayurveda colleges in the State of Tamil Nadu also have attached teaching hospitals. The
details are attached in the Annexure-II.
(d) There are 3120 registered practitioners of Ayurveda in the State of Tamil Nadu. Public
health being a State subject, the deployment of Ayurveda doctors and filling up of
vacancies in hospitals and colleges fall under the purview of the State Government
concerned and maintained by the State Government of Tamil Nadu.
