Dr. Kalanidhi Veeraswamy: Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state: (a) the number of AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) sanctioned under the Ayushman Bharat scheme across the country and specifically in Tamil Nadu, district-wise; (b) the number of such HWCs that are currently functional in Tamil Nadu and the districts covered; (c) the details of the criteria used for selecting locations for these centres; (d) whether there are plans to expand or upgrade AYUSH HWCs in southern districts of Tamil Nadu including rural and tribal areas; and (e) the amount of funds allocated and utilized for these centres in Tamil Nadu during the last three years? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (IC) OF THE MINISTRY OF AYUSH (SHRI PRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) to (e) Under Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush Mission (NAM), as per the existing criteria of the guideline, 12500 Ayush dispensaries and Sub Health Centres have been sanctioned under Ayushman Bharat to be upgraded as Ayush Health & Wellness Centres [now renamed as Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM) (Ayush)] as per the proposals received from State/UT Governments through their State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs). As reported by State / UT Governments, all 12500 AAM (Ayush) are functional including 650 units of Tamil Nadu. The District-wise status of approved AAM (Ayush) in Tamil Nadu is furnished at Annexure. Public Health being a State Subject, upgradation of AAM (Ayush) in the State including rural and tribal areas of southern districts of Tamil Nadu comes under the purview of respective State Government.
