Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government is implementing any standardized, evidence-based AYUSH
protocols for the prevention and management of cardiovascular diseases such as
hypertension, ischemic heart disease and dyslipidaemia in AYUSH Health and Wellness
Centres in Maharashtra and if so, the details thereof;
(b) the details and the number of AYUSH facilities co-located with Primary Health Centres
(PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs) and District Hospitals in Maharashtra that are
providing cardio-preventive services, district-wise along with the outcomes achieved in terms
of early screening and risk reduction;
(c) the manner in which AYUSH doctors in the State are being utilised for community-based
cardiovascular health promotion, including yoga-based interventions and preventive
counselling; and
(d) whether the Government has conducted or proposes to conduct any independent
evaluation of AYUSH-based cardiovascular interventions in the State to assess clinical
outcomes, cost-effectiveness and patient safety and if so, the details and timeline thereof?

(a) Under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush Mission (NAM), Ministry
of Ayush has operationalised 12500 Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Ayush) [AAM (Ayush)] in
different parts of the country including 390 Units in Maharashtra as per the proposals
received from State/UT Governments through State Annual Action Plan (SAAPs). These
AAM (Ayush) are providing holistic wellness model to the community based on Ayush
principles and practices including Yoga focusing on preventive, promotive, curative,
rehabilitative healthcare for different common ailments including Non-Communicable
Disease (NCDs) like hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidaemia.
1Further, Ayush vertical under Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in
collaboration with the Central Health Education Bureau (CHEB) conducted the Modular
Training Programme for Master Trainers from States and UTs in October 2025 to support
nationwide implementation after release of Standard Treatment Guidelines (STGs) on
Metabolic Disorders including NCDs. A total of 152 participants from 36 States and Union
Territories were trained, forming the national resource pool for the State-level cascading
training programme to support standardized interpretation and rollout of the STGs across
Ayush healthcare facilities including AAM (Ayush).
(b) As reported State Government of Maharashtra Ayush facilities are functioning in 23
District Hospitals (DH), 08 Women Hospitals (WH), 77 Sub District Hospitals (SDH) and
153 Rural Hospitals (RH) which are providing healthcare services to the community for
different common ailments including NCDs. The District-wise details of Ayush facilities is
furnished at Annexure.
(c) As informed by State Government of Maharashtra, Ayush Medical Officers/CHOs at
AAM (Ayush), Integrated Ayush Hospitals and Ayush collocated facilities-District Hospital,
Women’s Hospital, Sub District Hospital and Rural Hospital in Maharashtra are advising life
style changes corrections along with Ayurvedokta Dietetics and other counselling. Moreover,
Yoga Instructors are conducting Yoga Sessions as per International Day of Yoga protocol.
Community-based activities on cardiovascular health through lifestyle modification, yoga-
based practices, and awareness programmes aimed at reducing risk factors such as Stress,
Hypertension and Obesity are conducted through AAM (Ayush). They are also providing
counselling on healthy diet, regular physical activity, and stress management techniques to
support heart health.
(d) Public Health being State subject, conducting independent evaluation of Ayush-based
disease interventions to assess clinical outcomes, cost-effectiveness and patient safety comes
under the purview of State Government.
