The scheme provides unit financial assistance of Rs. 1.20 lakh in Daman and Diu, with an additional Rs. 12,000 for toilet construction through convergence with Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin (SBMG), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), or other funding sources. The UT of DNHDD provides a top-up of Rs 1.20 lakh to the beneficiaries.
The Ministry has released a central share of Rs. 88.30 crore to the UT of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu till date. Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the details and the number of houses sanctioned under
Pradhan MantriAwasYojana (Gramin) in Daman and Diu in the
last ten years along with the number of houses constructed
each year, year-wise;
(b) whether the constructed houses have been handed over to all
the beneficiaries along with the benefits being afforded to all
the beneficiaries;
(c) if so, the details of beneficiaries;
(d) the details of the cost involved in the construction of each
house and the funds spent thereon; and
(e) the Head under which funds were spent to construct the
houses?

(a): In order to achieve the objective of "Housing for All" in rural
areas, the Ministry of Rural Development is implementing Pradhan
MantriAwaasYojana- Gramin (PMAY-G) with effect from 1st April
2016 to provide assistance to 4.95 crore eligible rural households
with basic amenities by March 2029. As on 17.07.2025, a cumulative
target of 4.12 crore houses have been allotted to States/UTs out of
which 3.84 crore houses have been sanctioned and 2.80 crore
houses have been completed.

(b) & (c): The PMAY-G is a beneficiary led scheme wherein the
house is constructed by the beneficiary himself/herself or under
his/her supervision.
(d): The scheme provides unit financial Assistance of Rs.1.20 lakh
in Daman & Diu. Additional assistance of Rs. 12,000/- is extended for
construction of toilets through convergence with Swacch Bharat
Mission – Gramin (SBM-G), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural
Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) or other dedicated
source of funding. UT of DNH&DD provides a top-up of Rs 1.20 lakh
to the beneficiaries. Central share of Rs. 88.30 crore have been

(e): Under PMAY-G, the Ministry releases Central Share of funds
directly to States/UTs considering them as a single unit. Further
disbursal of funds as installments of assistance to the beneficiaries
is done by the States/UTs.
The assistance under the scheme is provided to the
beneficiaries directly into their bank account/ post office account
through Aadhaar Based Payment System/Direct Benefit Transfer
(DBT) in construction linked installments by the States/UTs.
