Parliament Question: Benefits extended under PM Vishwakarma Scheme

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1870 TO BE ANSWERED ON 09.03.2026 BENEFITS EXTENDED UNDER PM VISHWAKARMA SCHEME 1870. SHRI MALLIKARJUN KHARGE: Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state: (a) details of the number of applicants, registered beneficiaries, beneficiaries provided basic skill training, beneficiaries certified, beneficiaries provided concessional loans and supplied modern tool-kits, since inception of PM Vishwakarma Scheme's skill-wise, State-wise and year-wise; (b) whether any placement support was provided to beneficiaries, if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; (c) details of budget sanctioned, allocated, released and utilised, since its inception year-wise; and (d) whether any support for brand promotion and market linkages has been established to help Vishwakarmas access new opportunities for growth and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (SUSHRI SHOBHA KARANDLAJE) (a): PM Vishwakarma scheme was launched on 17.09.2023, to provide end-to-end holistic support to artisans and craftspeople of 18 traditional trades who work with their hands and tools. Details of the number of applicants, registered beneficiaries, beneficiaries provided basic skill training, beneficiaries certified, beneficiaries provided concessional loans and supplied modern tool- kits, since inception of the scheme skill-wise and State-wise is at Annexure-I. (b): PM Vishwakarma scheme is primarily designed to strengthen and support traditional artisans and craftspeople who are self-employed. The Scheme focuses on promoting entrepreneurship and enhancing business prospects of artisans and craftspeople. The scheme aims at enabling beneficiaries to strengthen and expand their own enterprises rather than seek employment. (Rs. in Cr.) 2023-24 753.11 745.91 2024-25 3,993.78 3,993.10 2025-26 (as on 05.03.2026) 4,400 2,613.22: 2 : (d): Under PM Vishwakarma scheme, Ministry of MSME has initiated comprehensive marketing support measures to enhance market access for Vishwakarma artisans through online platforms and physical exhibitions. It includes onboarding of PM Vishwakarmas on Government e-Marketplace (GeM), Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and reputed e-commerce platforms. More than 30,000 beneficiaries have been onboarded on GeM, over 1,700 artisans have been onboarded on ONDC and 160 artisans have been onboarded on e-commerce platforms. In addition, 50 trade fairs and 37 State-level PM Vishwakarma exhibitions have been organised across country. Ministry of MSME recently organised PM Vishwakarma Haat 2026 at Dilli Haat, New Delhi, an exhibition to celebrate and showcase India’s rich heritage of traditional craftsmanship while providing a prominent platform for 117 artisans, across the country to exhibit and market their handcrafted products to national and international buyers, stakeholders and the general public. *******Annexure-I Annexure-I referred to in reply to part (a) of the Rajya Sabha Unstarred Question No. 1870 for answer on 09.03.2026.
