ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF COOPERATION
(सहकारिता मंत्री) (SHRI AMIT SHAH)
(a) Bharat Taxi is a cooperative-led digital App mobility platform operated by Sahakar Taxi
Cooperative Limited (STCL), a multistate cooperative society, registered under the MSCS Act
2002. Bharat Taxi is providing its services in the cities of Delhi-NCR, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
As on 19 July 2026, a total of 7.97 lakh Sarathis (driver-partners) have been onboarded under the
cooperative-based Bharat Taxi initiative, all of whom have completed the document verification
process.
(b) Bharat Taxi's fares are set on objective, pre-defined parameters, finalised in consultation
with State Transport Authorities, Sarathi representatives and other stakeholders with no arbitrary

in line with the fair pricing acceptable to drivers and customers.
(c) Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited (STCL) has been promoted by eight institutions,
including the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC). Each promoter has
committed ₹10 crore towards the primary share capital of the Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited.
In addition to their capital contribution, all the promoter institutions, including NCDC, are
providing infrastructural, institutional, and manpower support to facilitate the establishment and
operational strengthening of STCL.
