BIOENERGY CLUSTER IN JHARKHAND

Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state:
(a) whether any Solar Park, Wind Power Project or Bio-Energy Cluster scheme is being
implemented by the Government particularly to promote installation of renewable energy plants/
projects in Jharkhand and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether any special initiative has been taken with regard to solar energy based agriculture
pumps, rooftop solar plants or components of Pradhan Mantri-Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan
Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) in Godda Lok Sabha Constituency and if so, the details thereof;
(c) the number of direct or indirect employment opportunities generated for local youth and
technical workers through solar energy, biomass and other renewable energy projects; and
(d) whether any such employment generation programme has been conducted/proposed to be
conducted in Godda Lok Sabha Constituency and if so, the details thereof?

(a) Under the scheme for “Development of Solar Parks and Ultra Mega Solar Power Projects”, the
Government has sanctioned four solar parks – 3 solar parks located in Jharkhand and 1 solar park
located partially in Jharkhand and partially in West Bengal – of aggregate capacity of 872 MW.
The wind power projects are being installed in the country by private companies/ public sector
enterprises based on techno-economic assessment. At present, there is no scheme being implemented
by the Government for providing financial subsidy/ incentive for installation of onshore wind power
projects.
No scheme to support Bioenergy Clusters in Jharkhand is being implemented by the Government.
However, one Waste to Energy project of 1.04 MWeq capacity under the Waste to Energy Programme
and five non-bagasse cogeneration projects of aggregate capacity of 19.1 MW under the Biomass
Programme have been commissioned in the State of Jharkhand.
(b) Government has been implementing PM-Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-
KUSUM) for solarization in agriculture and PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY) for
installation of rooftop solar systems (RTS) in residential sector, across the country including the Godda
Lok Sabha Constituency in Jharkhand.
Under PM-KUSUM, as per the information received from Jharkhand Renewable Energy
Development Agency (JREDA), 7,109 solar pumps have been installed under Component-B of the
scheme in Godda Lok Sabha Constituency.Under PMSGMBY, 34 RTS in Godda district, 444 RTS in Deoghar district and 21 RTS in Dumka
district have been installed as on 31.07.2026.
(c) As per the information received from JREDA, approx. 729 direct or indirect employment
opportunities have been created in the Godda Lok Sabha Constituency through renewable energy
projects.
(d) A total of 7324 no. of candidates have been trained in the state of Jharkhand including 373 no. of
candidates trained in the Godda Lok Sabha Constituency, under various skill development programmes
being implemented by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
