(a) & (b): The Ministry of Textiles implements a range of schemes to boost India’s handicraft and
textile industries, including in the state of Gujarat. For Handicrafts sector two schemes namely, National
Handicrafts Development Programme (NHDP) & Comprehensive Handicrafts Cluster Development
Scheme (CHCDS) and for textile sector 8 schemes are being run by the Ministry of Textiles. The brief
details of the schemes are as under:
Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Textiles: This scheme focuses on boosting the
production of Man-Made Fibre (MMF) apparel, MMF fabrics, and Technical Textiles in India.
