CAPITAL EXPENDITURE PERFORMANCE AND CLEAN ENERGY INVESTMENTS
IN COAL PSUS
*91 DR. K. LAXMAN:
Will the Minister of COAL be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the reported increase in capital expenditure by Coal India Limited, Singareni
Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and NLC India Limited during the first quarter of
Financial Year 2025–26;
(b) the sector-wise allocation of this expenditure, including investments in renewable energy,
coal gasification and employee welfare; and
(c) the specific projects, employment generation and infrastructure benefits accruing to the
State of Telangana, particularly through SCCL and the manner in which these investments
support energy security and the clean energy transition?

(c): Out of allocation of Rs. 1700 Crore for CAPEX by Singareni Collieries Company Limited,
Rs. 1270 Crore has been allocated for existing and new mining projects (comprising of Plant
and machinery, mine development works, construction of buildings, land acquisition, forest
land diversion, railway sidings, etc.) & Rs. 430 Cr has been allocated to clean energy initiatives
like Solar Power projects and Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) installations. These ongoing
mining and clean energy generation initiatives/projects have given a positive impetus towards
ensuring energy security along with creating significant direct & indirect employment
opportunities in the State of Telangana.
