GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF AYUSH RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO.3528 TO BE ANSWERED ON 24th March, 2026 Centre of Excellence at IIT Delhi 3528 SHRI SANDOSH KUMAR P: Will the Minister of Ayush be pleased to state: (a) whether the Centre of Excellence established at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi has achieved its intended goals in areas related to AYUSH research, innovation and integrative health solutions; (b) if so, the details of aims, goals and vision of the Union Government, the key milestones achieved till date and the measurable outcomes; (c) whether Government is collaborating with national and international institutions to assess the sector-specific needs of AyurTech; and (d) if so, the details thereof of the collaboration pursued post 2023?ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (IC) OF THE MINISTRY OF AYUSH (SHRI PRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) and (b) Ministry of Ayush is implementing a Central Sector Scheme namely Ayurswasthya Yojana having 02 components viz. i) Ayush and Public Health and ii) Centre of Excellence (CoE). During the FY 2023-24, under the CoE component of Ayurswasthya Yojana, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT,Delhi) have been financially supported for implementation of the project titled ‘Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Ayush for Advanced technological solutions, startup support and net zero sustainable solutions for Rasausadhies’. The CoE at IIT Delhi aims to advance research in Ayurveda by developing net-zero, sustainable solutions in Rasashastra and enhancing its global acceptance through research in sustainability, product design and materials. The key objectives of the project are as follows:- • Develop databases on toxic element dynamics and chemical composition of herbo- mineral preparations. • Establish standardized SOPs for processes and devices. • Identify key parameters for informed decision-making. • Identify gap areas and develop AI-driven applications. • Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Development and Capacity Building The project duration is 03 years and as of now, the first phase of research on selected herbo- mineral preparations, including the development of a material characterization database has been completed. (c) and (d) During the FY 2021-22, under the CoE component of Ayurswasthya Yojana, Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur have been financially supported for implementation of the project titled ‘Centre of Excellence in Ayurtech for Integrative Precision Health and Medicine’. The primary objective of this CoE is to establish an AI-driven integrative framework for population and individual risk stratification, enabling early and actionable precision health interventions. It integrates technologies such as electronics, digital health, and AI with omics and bioengineering to develop evidence-based Ayurveda solutions for integrative precision health. IIT Jodhpur has established an Ayurtech Centre of Excellence with a transdisciplinary team from engineering sciences and the School of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and collaborated with 15 Institutes at national level.
