ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS (SMT. ANUPRIYA PATEL) (a) No, Sir. Currently, there is no proposal under consideration for setting up a CIPET Centre at Dahod, Gujarat. However, CIPET has an Institute of Petrochemicals Technology (IPT) and Centre for Skilling and Technical Support (CSTS) at Ahmedabad, a Sub-Centre at Bhavnagar and another Centre for Skilling and Technical Support (CSTS) at Navsari in Gujarat. Also, one more CSTS and a Plastic Waste Management Centre (PWMC) at Sanand are under construction. These centers are expected to cater to the training and technological support needs of Gujarat state. (b) CIPET has played a vital role in developing the skilled workforce required for the Petrochemicals and Plastics sector in Gujarat. Currently, various skill development and skill upgradation programs in specialized technical domains are offered by CIPET Centres in Gujarat. Additionally, CIPET’s Technical Support Services (TSS) continue to significantly contribute to the advancement of the local plastics industry, fostering innovation and industrial growth. (c) 36 candidates from the Dahod region have received training in skill development programs at CIPET centres in Ahmedabad and Navsari in the last 3 years. *****
