(a): Comprehensive Handicrafts Cluster Development Scheme (CHCDS) is an Umbrella scheme
implemented in project mode to promote and develop handicrafts of fixed geographical craft
concentrated area/ different craft areas of a particular State by providing improved infrastructure,
capacity building design upgradation and marketing support. The projects are implemented by the states
through the State Government Directorates/ Corporations who are the Cluster Management & Technical
Agency (CMTA) for their respective projects. The state and year wise details of number of cluster
covered during last three years in CHCDS scheme including Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh district
wise are provided at Annexure-1.
(b): The details regarding physical progress of CHCDS project component in Uttar Pradesh and
Andhra Pradesh based on financial allocation and utilization are provided at Annexure-II.
(c): Total Nine (9) Detailed Project Report (DPR) submitted and approved in the past three years.
Eight DPRs were approved in F.Y 2022-23 for the state of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh,
Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Tripura & one DPR for the state of
Arunachal Pradesh was approved in the FY 2024-25.Annexure-1
