COMPETENCY EXAMINATION IN MMD,GOA
2130. SHRI CAPTAIN VIRIATO FERNANDES:
Will the Minister of PORTS, SHIPPING AND WATERWAYS be pleased to state:

(a) whether there are any plans of the Government to start competency
examination for Nautical & Engineering in Mercantile Marine Department (MMD) Goa,
if so, the steps taken towards it's implementation; and
(b) whether there is any plan to depute Principal Surveyor in MMD, Goa?

(a) & (b) No. At present, there is no plan to start the Certificate of Competency
examination in Mercantile Marine Department, Goa. Candidates can avail the
examination facilities at other approved MMDs (Annexure). Presently there is no post
for Principal Surveyor at MMD, Goa.ANNEXURE
