CONSTRUCTION OF ROADS UNDER PMGSY
359. Dr. M K Vishnu Prasad:
Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the details and total length of roads, in kilometres, constructed
under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in the
country, State and district-wise including Tamil Nadu;
(b) the details of funds allocated by the Government for PMGSY
road construction works during the current financial year, State
and district-wise including Tamil Nadu; and
(c) the details of the roads approved for construction under PMGSY
during the current financial year, State and district-wise
including Tamil Nadu?

(a): A total of 7,97,020 km road length has been constructed against
the total sanctioned length of 8,57,231 km across the country under
various verticals of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)
since inception till date (details as on 16.07.2026). In Tamil Nadu, a
total of 26,348 km road length has been constructed against the total
sanctioned length of 26,646 km length. Further, the State wise and
District-wise details of rural road projects completed under various
interventions of PMGSY may be accessed at the programme website
pmgsy.dord.gov.in/dbweb on a real-time basis.
(b): The funds for the implementation of the scheme are released by
the Ministry to the State as a whole and not district-wise. The funds
are released on the basis of works in hand, the progress achieved in
the project and after due submission of necessary documents. The
fund releases under PMGSY is through the SNA SPARSH System. The

wise during current financial year are given at Annexure.
(c): During the current financial year (2026-27), a total of 3,421
roads of 8219 km length and 304 bridges have been sanctioned under
various verticals of the PMGSY. Vertical-wise, State and District-wise
details may be accessed at programme website website
pmgsy.dord.gov.in -> PMGSY Progress Dashboard. The detailed
Project Reports (DPRs) under PMGSY IV are awaited from the State
and so far, no work has been sanctioned to the State of Tamil Nadu
under PMGSY during FY 2026–27.
