Construction of Yards for Fertilizers

Will the Minister of CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS be pleased to state:
(a) whether thousand tons of fertilizers are required for Chandauli as Chandauli
is an agricultural district, if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether farmers have to visit other districts to procure fertilizers for agriculture,
if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government proposes to construct the yard at a pre-determined
location at Saresar in Rajasthan to mitigate the problems of the farmers; and
(d) if so, the date by which the said yard is likely to be constructed?
ANSWER

(a) The mandate of Department of Fertilizers is to ensure adequate availability of
fertilizers at State level. However, distribution of fertilizers within the State at district
level is done by the State governments. Accordingly, as per information received from
the State Government of Uttar Pradesh, adequate quantities of fertilizers has been
allocated in all the districts of the State, including Chandauli, as per their requirement.
(b) In view of (a) above, no such question arises.
(c) & (d) State Government of Rajasthan has informed that Saresar in not located in
the State. Further, as per the available information, Saresar is located in Chandauli
district of Uttar Pradesh. Accordingly, as per the information received from the State
Government of Uttar Pradesh there is no such proposal for construction of yard at
Saresar.
