Parliament Question: Cooperation with Israel

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 4414 ANSWERED ON - 02/04/2026 COOPERATION WITH ISRAEL 4414. SHRI ABDUL WAHAB Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:- (a) the details of agreements, Memoranda of Understanding and other pacts signed between Government and Government of Israel during the recent visit of Indian Prime Minister, including their purposes; (b) whether Government was aware of recent military attack on Iran the following day and if so, the details thereof; and (c) what actions have been taken by Government to manage and de-escalate the situation in the Persian Gulf and protect India’s strategic, energy and citizen interests? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS (SHRI KIRTI VARDHAN SINGH) (a to c) At the invitation of the Prime Minister of Israel, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi paid a State visit to Israel on February 25-26, 2026. During the visit, the two Prime Ministers engaged in comprehensive discussions covering the entire gamut of the India-Israel partnership, as well as discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest. During the visit several Agreements/ MoUs/ Protocols/ Letters of Intent including in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture, education and AI, financial services, digital payments, mobility of workers and geophysical exploration were signed. The list is at Annexure. No discussions took place related to the matter referred to in part (b) of the question. Government of India continues to closely monitor the evolving situation in West Asia. Since the start of the conflict, Prime Minister has spoken to Leaders of countries in the region, including Israel, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, UAE Jordan and the USA. External Affairs Minister also spoke with his counterparts in Israel, Iran, USA and GCC countries. The importance of pursuing dialogue and diplomacy to de-escalate and prioritising the safety of civilians was underscored during these conversations. These regional Leaders have given assurance regarding the safety of Indians. Since the beginning of the conflict, Ministry of External Affairs has proactively taken measures for the safety and well-being of the Indian community residing in the region. All Indian Missions in affected countries are continuously providing help, issuing regular advisories, and 24/7 control room and emergency helplines have been established both in India and in our Missions in affected countries. Due to these efforts, more than 4,75,000 Indians have safely travelled to India since the war began. Government is making all efforts to diversify sources for energy, fertilizers and other supply chains. India has also secured safe passage of LPG Carriers and other ships to India, through the Strait of Hormuz. 1Annexure Sl.No. Name of MoU/Agreement 1.
