Will the Minister of COOPERATION (सहकारिता मंत्री) be pleased to state: (a) whether a University has been established by the cooperative department in the State of Gujarat, if so, the details thereof and the educational institutions which are affiliated with this University, State-wise; (b) whether cooperative management colleges (D. Coop) in all the districts of Tamil Nadu and the Cooperative Arts and Science College in Dindigul district will be affiliated with the University in Gujarat, if so, the details thereof; (c) the number of State taxi drivers who benefit through the Bharat Taxi App operated through the cooperative department; and (d) the difference between Ola, Uber, Rapido and Bharat Taxi App along with benefits to the public? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF COOPERATION सहकारिता मंत्री (SHRI AMIT SHAH) (a) “Tribhuvan” Sahkari University (TSU), Anand has been established by the Act of Parliament in 2025 in the state of Gujarat. TSU has affiliated 16 Institutions in 10 states so far. The details are enclosed at Annexure-1. (b) Educational institutions of Tamil Nadu may apply for affiliation with TSU to offer cooperative education programmes. The grant of affiliation shall be subject to the institution fulfilling the University's prescribed norms and requirements. (c) Presently, Bharat Taxi is operational in the cities of Delhi-NCR and Gujarat. As on date, 7.76 lakh Sarathis (drivers) have been registered on the Bharat Taxi App. Page 1 of 3(d) Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited is an innovative, driver (Sarathi)-centric and cooperative-based mobility solution developed with the objective of economically empowering drivers and providing affordable, safe and reliable transportation facilities to the public. Based on the principles of cooperation, transparency and shared ownership, this platform provides a people-centric alternative to traditional ride-hailing platforms. The key difference between Bharat Taxi and other ride-hailing platforms is that Bharat Taxi is based on a ‘Zero Commission Model’, under which no commission is charged from drivers, enabling them to receive the full benefit of the fare directly. Unlike in other ride-hailing platforms, drivers of Bharat Taxi are not merely service providers but also participants and beneficiaries of the cooperative system. They get opportunities for better income, fair remuneration, participation in decision-making processes and a share in the benefits of the platform, thereby strengthening their social and economic security. ***** Page 2 of 3Annexure-1 S.
