(a) the details of the criteria adopted for road construction under
Pradhan Mantri Gram SadakYojana (PMGSY);
(b) the number of roads constructed in Dungarpur region of
BanswaraLokSabha Constituency under PMGSY during the last
ten years;
(c) whether the Government proposes to improve the already
constructed roads and construct new roads under PMGSY in
BanswaraLokSabha Constituency and if so, the details thereof
and the time by which it is likely to be done; and
(d) the number of proposal received from Rajasthan during the last
one year for construction of roads in the State, district-wise?

(a): The Pradhan Mantri Gram SadakYojana (PMGSY) is being
implemented since the year 2000 by the Ministry of Rural
Development to provide rural connectivity, by way of a single all-
weather road, to the eligible unconnected habitations of population
size 500+ in plains, 250+ in NE & Hill Sates/UTs, special category
areas (Tribal Schedule V, Backward districts, desert areas) and
100+ in Left Wing Extremism Affected (LWE) affected districts, as
per Census 2001. For the new vertical PMGSY-IV, the population
criteria is as per Census 2011. The roads under PMGSY are being
constructed as per the technical specifications and geometric
design standards given in the Ministry of Rural Development
Specifications for Rural Roads, Rural Roads Manual of the Indian
Road Congress (IRC) (IRC: SP:20), IRC:SP:72 and also, where
Page 1 of 3required, the Hill Road Manual (IRC: SP:48) and other IRC Codes/
Guidelines.
(b): Under PMGSY, constituency wise data is not maintained;
however district wise progress report is being maintained in the
Ministry. The progress in Banswara and Dungarpur districts are as
below:

(c): PMGSY was launched to provide connectivity to the
unconnected habitations in rural areas; however need was felt to
cover the upgradation of already constructed roads in rural areas,
hence upgradation works were taken up under PMGSY-II and
PMGSY-III verticals across the country, including the State of
Rajasthan. The status of the progress of the State of Rajasthan
under PMGSY-II and III is as below:
