SHRI HARISH CHANDRA MEENA: Will the Minister of AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृ िष एवं िकसान क(cid:670)ाण मं(cid:361)ी be pleased to state: (a) whether a Centre of Excellence (CoE) has been set up for Guava at Devdawas in Tonk district of Rajasthan; (b) whether the farmers of Tonk district have adopted the cultivation of Guava under the said Scheme; (c) if so, the number of plants distributed so far, the nature of technical assistance provided and the details of the central infrastructure to promote the farming of Guava; (d) the total funds allocated and utilised for the said CoE; and (e) whether the Government is planning to set other CoE in future as per the crop system and horticulture potential of the respective districts, if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृ िष एवं िकसान क(cid:670)ाण रा(cid:475) मं(cid:361)ी (SHRI RAMNATH THAKUR) (a): Centres of Excellence (CoEs) are established under Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) with technical support of Israel/Netherlands/New Zealand under specific cooperation agreements and through support of Indian Research Institutes. These Centres are established based on the proposal received from the State Government and No such proposal for establishment of Centre of Excellence for Guava at Devdawas in Tonk District of Rajasthan under Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) Scheme has been received from the State Government. However, as per the information received from State Government of Rajasthan, an establishment named as Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Guava has been set up at Devdawas in Tonk District with the funds received from Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) scheme in the year 2014- 15. (b): Yes Sir. State Government of Rajasthan has reported that the farmers have been given assistance as per norms of the Government of India Scheme “Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH)”. (c): About 82000 nos. of Guava plants have been distributed to the farmers so far. The farmers are also given the training on different aspects of Guava Cultivation by the State Government. Till date 3249 nos. of farmers have been trained at the Centre at Devdawas. (d): This centre was set up by the State Government utilizing the fund allocated under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) scheme and till date an amount of Rs. 934.29 lakh have been allocated by the State Government and out of which an amount of Rs. 874.82 lakh have been utilized. (e): Under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), support is extended for the creation of Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in the country, based on proposals submitted by the State Governments as per the approved Annual Action Plan (AAP) of the State. AAP is prepared by the State based on their requirements, capacity and availability of resources. The Centre of Excellences are identified by the States and thereafter the project proposals, duly vetted and recommended by the State Government (SLEC) as well as by the Technical Counterpart, is forwarded to this Ministry for its consideration and approval. *****
