DECLARATION OF AMOUNT FOR MSP OF CROPS

be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the crops procured at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) during the years
2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26 in Ambedkar Nagar district in Uttar Pradesh;
(b) the details of amount for MSP declared for each crop, actual quantity purchased (in
quintals/metric tonnes) and the total amount paid during the said period; and
(c) the relative percentage of total quantity of crops purchased by the Government at
MSP as compared to the total agricultural production of the said district?

QUESTION NO. 256 FOR 10TH MARCH, 2026 REGARDING DECLARATION OF
AMOUNT FOR MSP OF CROPS.
(a): As per the information received from Government of Uttar Pradesh, the details of the
crops procured at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) during the years 2023-24, 2024-25 and
2025-26 in Ambedkar Nagar district in Uttar Pradesh is as follows:

(b): The details of MSP declared for each crop during 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26 is
given at Annexure. During 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26, 32,32,48,759.69 MT of wheat,
paddy, pulses, oilseeds, coarse grains and cotton has been procured and total MSP value
of Rs. 8,32,740.89 Crore has been paid to the farmers.
(c): Announcement of Minimum Support Price (MSP) by the Government and sanction of
procurement at MSP by Central Nodal Agencies (CNAs), impacts markets positively
improving market price, even at or above MSP. Farmers participating in procurement as well
as those selling in the open market benefit from the MSP announcement. Farmers decide
the quantity of produce for sale at MSP based on their marketable surplus. Further, they are
free to sell their produce anywhere if they get better price than the MSP. There is an
increasing trend in the production and the procurement of agriculture crops in the country
including in the state of Utter Pradesh.Annexure
