Will the Minister of HEALTHANDFAMILYWELFARE be pleased tostate:
(a) whether the Government has developed the Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog, Hita and
Maitri (BHISHM) Cube for rapid emergency medical response and if so, the details thereof
including its features such as modular design, portability, capacity and Artificial Intelligence
integration;
(b) whether these cubes are being used for providing emergency medical care during disasters,
mass casualty incidents, humanitarian missions and conflict zones and if so, the details thereof
alongwith the successful examples of theirdeployment;
(c) whether the Government proposes to deploy them across all 25 All India Institute of Medical
Sciences(AIIMS) andotherinstitutes of National Importance and if so, the detailsthereof, State-
wise;
(d) whether any such cubes have been deployed in Himachal Pradesh and if so, the details
thereof,location-wise;
(e)whether the Government hasfacedchallenges indeploymentindifficult terrainsandif so, the
detailsthereof; and
(f) whether India has deployed or gifted BHISHM Cubes internationally and if so, the details
thereof?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OFSTATE IN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTH & FAMILYWELFARE
(SHRIPRATAPRAO JADHAV)
(a) BHISHM Cube has been developed by Government of India asa part of the 'Aarogya Maitri'
project to provide rapid on-site emergency medical response. Each cube is composed of portable
"mini cubes" filled with essential medicines and equipment, making it highly modular and
scalable design for rapid deployment in various emergencies. Each complete cube can support
Page1of3medical care for up to 200 cases, including for minor surgical procedures. The system
incorporates advanced technology, featuring inventory management via radio-frequency
identification(RFID).
(b)and (f) In the initialphase of deployment,BHISHM Cubes have beendispatchedtocountries
like SriLanka,Myanmar, Ukraine for humanitarian aid.
(c) and (d) Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, under Pradhan Mantri - Ayushman Bharat
Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) has provided BHISHM Cubes to All India Institute
of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and other Institutes of National Importance (INIs) including
AIIMS Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh. Details of State/UTs which have been provided with
BHISHM Cubesisdetailedat Annexure.
(e) The BHISHM Cube is built for maximum flexibility and for rapid deployment, with the
ability to be delivered by air, sea, land, or drones, enabling quick response in remote or conflict
zones. This multi-modal deployment capability ensures that the cubes can reach the most critical
areas with minimal delay. Joint trainings, mock drills, demonstrations and Table Top Exercise
(TTEx) on use of BHISHM Cubes have been organized by AIIMS/INIs in collaboration with
concerneddistrict andState authorities.
