Will the Minister of SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP be
pleased to state:
(a) whether 149 ITIs are being developed as Centres of Excellence in Bihar;
(b) if so, the name and number of ITIs of West Champaran district likely to be
developed as Centres of Excellence;
(c) whether 15 thousand youth are likely to be imparted training of under new
technology every year in the said 23 new courses which will create new employment
opportunities for the youth in Multinational Companies; and;
(d) the details thereof?

(a) Yes, Sir. As per information provided by the Government of Bihar, the state
government has decided to upgrade 149 Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs)
in the State as Centres of Excellence with the support of Tata Technologies Limited.
(b) It has been decided to upgrade the following four Government ITIs in West
Champaran districts into Centres of Excellence.
1. Government ITI Betiah
2. Government ITI Narkatiyaganj
3. Government ITI Semra Bazar (Bagaha)
4. Government Women ITI (Betiah)
(c) and (d) Centres of Excellence have been established in 60 Government ITIs, so far.
As per information received from the State Government, currently 3,539 students are
undergoing training in various courses in these Centres of Excellence, and 5,597 students
have already completed training under this initiative. These courses aim to enhance
employability by equipping students with new-age technical skills aligned with industry
needs.
