It focuses on building the complete electronics manufacturing ecosystem and an enabling environment for industry to complete globally. The policy strategy encompasses manufacturing of finished products, modules, components, sub- modules, tools, raw materials and machinery required for electronics production. As a result of this comprehensive and ecosystem-driven approach, India has achieved significant growth in electronics manufacturing: # 2014-15 2 0 2 4 - 2 5 Remarks Production of ~1.9 Lakh Cr ~11.3 Lakh Cr Increased 6 times electronics goods (₹) Export of ~0.38 Lakh Cr ~3.3 Lakh Cr Increased 8 times electronics goods (₹) Production of ~0.18 Lakh Cr ~5.5 Lakh Cr Increased 28 times mobile phones (₹) Export of ~0.01 Lakh Cr ~ 2 Lakh Cr Increased 127 times mobile phones (₹) In line with this vision, the Government notified the Modified Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMC 2.0) Scheme in April 2020. The scheme supports the creation of world-class electronics manufacturing infrastructure by providing financial assistance for the development of dedicated clusters with common facilities. These clusters offer shared infrastructure and amenities, including ready industrial plots, Ready Built Factory (RBF) sheds, and plug-and-play facilities, to enable rapid establishment of electronics manufacturing units. Under the scheme, one electronics manufacturing cluster has been approved in the State of Maharashtra at Ranjangaon in Pune district, with the projected cost of ₹ 492.85 crore. It covers an area of 297.11 acre.The proposal has projected investment of ₹2,000 crore and creation of 5000 jobs. Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) is acting as Project Implementing Agency (PIA) for this project. The Financial support from Government of India for this project is ₹207.98 crore and the remaining amount will be provided by MIDC.
