SHRI RAHUL KASWAN: Will the Minister of DEFENCE be pleased to state: (a) the number of Ex-servicemen residing in Rajasthan along with the number of them who are currently unemployed/underemployed, district-wise; (b) whether any region-specific skilling/entrepreneurship support has been provided under the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR) and if so, the details thereof; (c) whether the Government has partnered with Defence PSUs/Private firms to offer remote work/contract opportunities for veterans in non-metro areas and if so, the details thereof; (d) whether the Government proposes any roadmap to bridge the urban-rural disparity in post-retirement welfare schemes for soldiers; and (e) if so, the details thereof? A N S W E R MINISTER OF STATE (SHRI SANJAY SETH) IN THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE (a) As per the Data of Ex-Servicemen (ESMs) as on 30.06.2024, the total number of ex-servicemen residing in Rajasthan is 2,12,415. District wise data is annexed at Appendix ‘A’. No data is being maintained regarding the status of unemployment and underemployment of ex-servicemen. (b) Yes Sir, region-specific skilling and entrepreneurship are aimed at empowering Ex-Servicemen (ESM) with relevant industry-aligned skills to support their transition into second careers. In Rajasthan, a total of 32 courses have been organized in the cities viz. Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota and Beawer for the FY 2025-26. (c) As per the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) Office Memorandum dated 13 September 2018, all PSUs have been advised to undertake provisioning of security services through Directorate General Resettlement (DGR) empanelled Security Agencies under MoD/DESW/DGR Security Agency Scheme.
