GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF AYUSH LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION No-3335 ANSWERED ON-07/08/2026 EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY UNDER NAM 3335. SHRI S VENKATESAN Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government is aware that candidates holding recognised medical postgraduate qualifications, such as MD Siddha (Yoga) awarded by the National Institute of Siddha (NIS) and recognized by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) are not being provided adequate employment opportunities under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM); (b) if so, the details thereof; (c) whether any persons possessing qualifications that are not recognized as medical qualifications by the NCISM and NAM are being appointed and allowed to function as doctors under NAM, if so, the details thereof; (d) whether the Government has issued any orders, rules or eligibility criteria permitting such appointments to function as medical doctors; and (e) if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (IC) OF THE MINISTRY OF AYUSH (SHRI PRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) to (b) Ministry of Ayush is implementing Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush Mission (NAM) through State/UT Governments and supporting their efforts by providing financial assistance for implementation of different activities which also includes support for deployment of Ayush doctors under different Ayush system including Siddha against their proposals submitting through State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs), as per the provision of NAM guidelines. Since, Public Health being a State subject and the implementation of the NAM Scheme lies with the respective State/UT Governments. Therefore, deployment of the manpower comes in the purview of them. (c) No such information is received from State/UT Governments. (d) & (e) Question does not arise. *****
