EMPLOYMENT IN BSNL
3057 DR. V. SIVADASAN:
Will the Minister of Communications be pleased to state:
(a) the number of regular employees in Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), during the last
five years, year-wise;
(b) the number of employees who have taken voluntary retirement since 2021, year-wise;
(c) the number of persons presently working in BSNL on contract/outsourced basis, circle-wise
and category-wise;
(d) whether Government is conducting regular recruitments to fill the vacancies arising due to
retirements; and
(e) the details of recruitment notifications issued during the last five years, indicating the number
of posts, category and status of filling up of such posts?

(a) The details of regular employees in BSNL during the last five years are as below:

(c) BSNL engage outsourced employees for non-core activities like housekeeping, security and
repair & maintenance etc. The details of outsourced employees in BSNL are as below:

(d) & (e) In BSNL, post VRS restructuring, all posts in excess of approved strength stands
abolished w.e.f. 01.02.2020. The vacancies arising due to retirement are being filled up through
promotion as per respective Recruitment Rules in various cadres in BSNL. During the last five years,
BSNL has issued one notification on 29.01.2026 for direct recruitment for 95 posts of Senior
Executive Trainee (Telecom Stream) and 25 posts of Senior Executive Trainee (Finance Stream).
