Will the Minister of Tribal Affairs be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government proposes to establish Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS)
at all block headquarters having 50% Scheduled Tribes (ST) population or at least 20,000 ST
population and if so, the details thereof;
(b) the number of blocks found eligible under the said category along with blocks where such
schools have been established and the blocks which have been deprived of such schools in
Banswara Lok Sabha Constituency;
(c) whether the Government proposes to establish more than one EMRS in areas having special
geographical disparities such as scheduled areas;
(d) if so, the details of the provision made in this regard;
(e) whether the Government proposes to establish EMRS in each eligible block of Banswara Lok
Sabha Constituency which falls under the Scheduled Area as per the prescribed norms; and
(f) if so, the details thereof along with the time by which it is likely to be established and if not,
the reasons therefor?

(a) to (f): Though the twin criteria is to be satisfied for creation of EMRS Schools in a block, no
new Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) are under consideration, apart from those
already approved by the Union Cabinet in 2018-19 and earlier EMRSs sanctioned under Article
275(1) of the Constitution, as the Ministry is currently focusing on the already approved 728
EMRSs only.
Under Banswara Parliamentary Constituency all the 13 blocks fulfill the EMRS Twin criteria
of minimum 20,000 ST population in a block and more than 50% ST population in the block.
