Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 1284, to be answered on 06.02.2026, concerns the establishment of 50-bedded AYUSH hospitals in Odisha. Dr. Rabindra Narayan Behera asked the Minister of AYUSH whether the government is aware of the need for AYUSH hospitals in the Jajpur district due to health concerns arising from industrial and mining activities. He also inquired about the consideration of Panikoili area for a 50-bedded AYUSH hospital and the project's status and timeline. The Minister of State (IC) of the Ministry of AYUSH, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, responded that public health is a state subject, and the establishment of AYUSH hospitals falls under the purview of the State Government. However, the Ministry of AYUSH is implementing the National Ayush Mission (NAM), which provides financial assistance for establishing 50/30/10 bedded Integrated Ayush Hospitals (IAHs) through State/UT Governments, including Odisha. The State Government can avail financial assistance by submitting a suitable proposal through the State Annual Action Plan (SAAP) as per NAM guidelines.
