Will the Minister of HEAVY INDUSTRIES be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has considered establishing heavy industries such as heavy electrical
equipment and automobile industries in the Kosi–Seemanchal region of Purnea in backward States
like Bihar;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government proposes to extend cooperation to the Government of Bihar for the
establishment of such heavy industries; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a): Since Industry is a State Subject as per the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution of India, the
Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) does not maintain any centralized data relating to the
establishment of Heavy Industries such as heavy electrical equipment and automobile industries in
any part of the Country including Kosi–Seemanchal region of Purnea Constituency in the state of
Bihar.
(b) to (d): Does not arise.
