Will the Minister of TRIBAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the total number of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) functioning in the country
before 2014; and
(b) the number of new EMRSs sanctioned by the Government since 2014 till date and the number
of schools out of them under construction and functioning at present?

(a) A total of 123 EMRSs were functioning in the country till 2013–14.
(b) A total of 555 EMRSs have been sanctioned by the Government from 2014-15 to till date,
out of which 312 EMRSs have been made functional by the State Government . Out of these 555
EMRSs , construction of building for 211 EMRS has been completed and 344 EMRSs are in under
construction stage.
