EVS-PENETRATION IN THE NORTH-EAST
*122. SHRI GAURAV GOGOI:
Will the Minister of HEAVY INDUSTRIES be pleased to state:
(a) the details of number of Electric Vehicles (EVs) sold in Assam and other North-eastern States
under FAME India subsidy support, year-wise from 2022-23 to 2024-25;
(b) the details of number of EV charging stations sanctioned and operational in Assam as on date;
(c) the details of FAME subsidy disbursed to North-eastern States as a percentage of the national
total; and
(d) the details of steps being taken to extend charging infrastructure to National Highway
corridors in Assam and the North-east under the Modified UDAN–EV convergence framework?

(a): Details of total number of EVs sold in Assam and other Northeastern States under FAME-
II scheme from 2022-23 to 2024-25, is as under:

FAME-II was implemented from 01.04.2019 to 31.03.2024.
(b): A total of 117 number of EV public charging stations (EVPCS) have been sanctioned and 88 EV
PCS are operational in Assam under FAME-II Scheme, as on 01.07.2026.
(c): The FAME-II scheme was implemented on pan India basis and no state-wise allocation has been
done under the scheme. Details of FAME subsidy disbursed to EV buyers for the EVs registered in the
Northeastern States are as under :

In addition to the above, 198 EV chargers have been sanctioned in the Northeast Region and are
being installed through Oil Marketing Companies. The number of chargers sanctioned are 117 in Assam,
29 in Meghalaya, 23 in Nagaland, 14 in Manipur, 7 in Mizoram, 5 in Tripura, and 3 in Arunachal Pradesh.
(d): As per information received from Ministry of Civil Aviation, there is no such framework under
the recently launched Modified UDAN Scheme.
