(b) whether rural connectivity has improved under the BharatNet project and if so, the details

(d) the district-wise details of the status of expansion of 5G services and rural connectivity in

REGARDING “EXPANSION OF 5G SERVICES.”
(a) As on 31.10.2025, Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) have installed 5.08 Lakhs 5G Base
Transceiver Stations (BTSs) across the country.
(b) Yes, the rural connectivity has improved under BharatNet project. As of October 2025, 2.14
Lakh Gram Panchayats are service ready for broadband connectivity and 13.66 Lakh Fiber to the
Home (FTTH) connections have been provided throughout the country under this project.
(c) To bridge the digital divide in remote and border areas, Government has taken number of
steps using Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN), which, inter-alia, includes following :-
i. BharatNet project for providing broadband connectivity in Gram Panchayats (GPs) and
villages.
ii. Scheme for providing mobile services in Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected areas and in
Aspirational Districts.
iii. Scheme for providing mobile services in border areas.
iv. 4G Saturation scheme to provide 4G mobile coverage in all uncovered villages.
(d) The district-wise details of expansion of 5G services in Rajasthan, as provided by TSPs, is
placed at Annexure-I. Further, under DBN funded Mobile schemes, 1409 Mobile Towers with 4G
technology have been commissioned and providing services to 1684 rural villages in Rajasthan.
