MANJU SHARMA: पेट(cid:332)ोिलयम और (cid:366)ाकृ ितक गैस मं(cid:361)ी Will the Minister of PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government proposes to increase the number of CNG stations in view of the increasing number of CNG vehicles across the country, particularly in Rajasthan, if so, the details thereof; (b) the number of CNG stations approved and likely to be approved by the Government during the current year, State/UT-wise; and (c) whether the Government has imposed any kind of restrictions on the companies for opening CNG stations in Rajasthan, if so, the details thereof? ANSWER पेट(cid:332)ोिलयम और (cid:366)ाकृ ितक गैस मं(cid:361)ालय म(cid:336) रा(cid:475) मं(cid:361)ी ((cid:373)ी सुरेश गोपी) MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS (SHRI SURESH GOPI) (a) to (c) Establishment of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations is part of the development of City Gas Distribution (CGD) Network, which is carried out by the entities authorized by Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB). After completion of 12/12A CGD bidding round, PNGRB has authorized entities for the development of CGD network in 309 Geographical Areas (GAs), covering the entire mainland area across the country. CGD infrastructure roll out is undertaken by the authorised entities in accordance with the authorization granted by PNGRB and approved project plan. As on 31.05.2026, the authorised entities have established 8980 CNG stations across the country. PNGRB has authorized 17 GAs including (2 GAs spread over Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan; 1 GA spread over Punjab and Rajasthan and 1 GA spread over U.P. and Rajasthan), in the state of Rajasthan. As on 31.05.2026, authorised entities have established 499 CNG stations in the state of Rajasthan. State and Union Territory-wise number of CNG stations as on 31.05.2026 is at Annexure. The CNG stations are opened in the GA by the CGD entities based on the MWP target and techno- commercial feasibility.
