Parliament Question: Expansion of digital public services through CSC

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 2464 TO BE ANSWERED ON: 13.03.2026 EXPANSION OF DIGITAL PUBLIC SERVICES THROUGH CSC 2464. SMT. GEETA ALIAS CHANDRAPRABHA: Will the Minister of ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state: (a) whether the Digital India Programme has expanded access to digital public services through Common Service Centres (CSCs) across the country; (b) if so, the number of operational CSCs and the digital services delivered in Uttar Pradesh during the last three years; and (c) whether district-wise data for Auraiya reflects citizen usage trends, categories of services accessed and enrollment under key digital governance services provided through CSCs? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI JITIN PRASADA) (a) to (c): Common Services Centres (CSCs) are established under the Digital India Programme, throughout the country to provide citizen-centric services. These centres are operated by Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLE). Currently, there are 5.54 Lakh CSCs operational throughout the country. Citizens access a wide range of services through CSCs, including electricity bill payments, e-District services, municipal services, Update Client Lite (UCL) demographic services (Aadhar Demographic update), e- recharge, PAN services, etc. All the services provided by CSCs can be seen at https://csc.gov.in/. The number of functional CSCs and number of transactions carried out by CSCs in the State of Uttar Pradesh during the last three years are as follows: • Financial year (FY) 2023-24: 1.24 lakh CSCs operational with 1105.25 Lakh transactions. • FY 2024-25: 1.29 lakh CSCs operational with 1202.49 Lakh transactions. • FY 2025-26 (till Dec’ 25): 1.28 lakh CSCs operational 879.85 Lakh transactions.
