As of August 13, 2025, a cumulative target of 4.12 crore houses has been allocated to the States/Union Territories, against which 3.85 crore beneficiaries have been sanctioned and 2.83 crore houses have been completed.

Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the details of cost incurred by the Government in the
construction of 8,21,190 pucca houses;
(b) whether there are any plans to further extend or expand the
Pradhan MantriAwasYojanaGramin (PMAY-G) to ensure housing
for all in rural areas of the country; and
(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a): Under Pradhan MantriAwasYojanaGramin (PMAY-G), the unit
assistance of Rs. 1.20 lakhs in plain areas and Rs. 1.30 lakhs in
North Eastern States, Hilly States (including UTs of J&K and
Ladakh) is provided. The funding pattern between Centre and the
State for the NER States and Himalayan States [Uttarakhand,
Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir (UT)] is 90:10 whereas for
the rest of the States is 60:40 and for Union Territories without
legislature, 100% funding are borne by the Centre. As on 13.08.2025,
the Ministry has released central share of Rs 2,61,432.15crore to
the states/UTs since inception of the scheme i.e. 01.04.2016.
In addition to the unit assistance, the beneficiaries are
facilitated with 90/95 person days of unskilled labour wages through
mandatory convergence with Mahatma Gandhi National Rural
Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS). Support of Rs. 12,000
for construction of toilet is also provided through Swacch Bharat
Mission - Gramin (SBM-G), MGNREGS or any other dedicated source

(PMAY-G) during FY 2024-25 to 2028-29” for construction of 2 crore
additional rural houses with an outlay of 3.06 lakh crores. Under the
scheme, as of 13.08.2025, the Ministry has allocated cumulative
target of 4.12 crore houses to the States/Union Territories (UTs)
against which the States/UTs have given sanctions to 3.85 crore
beneficiaries and 2.83 crore houses are already completed.
