GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 633 ANSWERED ON 22.07.2026 EXPANSION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECTS IN UTTAR PRADESH 633. SHRI JITENDRA KUMAR DOHARE Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government is aware of the fact that the expected expansion of new and renewable energy schemes has not taken place in the Etawah Lok Sabha Constituency of Uttar Pradesh; (b) if so, the details of projects sanctioned and installed and amount spent under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PM-SGMBY), Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyaan (PM-KUSUM), solar rooftop installation, solar pumps and other renewable energy schemes in the Etawah Lok Sabha Constituency during the last three years, scheme wise; (c) whether the Government proposes to sanction additional solar high mast lights, solar street light and other community solar energy projects to increase energy availability in the rural and remote areas of the Etawah Lok Sabha Constituency; and (d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR NEW & RENEWABLE ENERGY AND POWER (SHRI SHRIPAD YESSO NAIK) (a) & (b) The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) through state implementing agencies, is implementing various schemes/programmes across the country including in the Etawah Lok Sabha Constituency of Uttar Pradesh. The PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY) and PM Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyaan (PM-KUSUM) scheme are demand driven scheme, wherein no state- wise allocation is made. Under the PMSG: MBY, since its launch in February 2024, a total of 17,929 applications have been received and 11,364 RTS systems have been installed, benefitting 11,364 households, and an amount of Rs 78.27 crore has been disbursed as Central Financial Assistance (CFA) to the beneficiaries of the scheme as on 20.07.2026, in the districts covering Etawah Lok Sabha Constituency. As reported by the State Implementing Agencies of the state of Uttar Pradesh, based on the demand received from the state and sanction issued by the MNRE, a total of 414 agriculture pumps have been solarised and an amount of Rs. 216.24 Cr has been released in Etawah Lok Sabha Constituency of Uttar Pradesh, under the PM KUSUM scheme during the last three years.In addition, the UPNEDA has reported solarisation of 19 Government buildings with installation of 1933 kW capacity solar PV and an expenditure of Rs. 8.20 Cr, and installation of 1320 solar street lights with expenditure of Rs. 2.72 Cr during the last three years in Etawah Lok Sabha Constituency of Uttar Pradesh. (c) & (d) Presently, there is no specific scheme operational in the MNRE for providing support for installation of solar high mast lights, solar street light and other community solar energy projects to increase energy availability in the rural and remote areas of the Etawah Lok Sabha Constituency. *****
