GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF AYUSH RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 3535 TO BE ANSWERED ON 24th March, 2026 Financial Assistance to SHGs and NGOs 3535# Smt. Sumitra Balmik: Will the Minister of Ayush be pleased to state: (a) whether Government provides financial assistance or grants to non-governmental organisations (NGOs), self help groups (SHGs) or other voluntary organisations for implementation of AYUSH related healthcare, wellness and preventive health programmes; (b) if so, the details of grants sanctioned and released during the last five years; (c) the number of NGOs and SHGs supported under each scheme, along with the nature of activities undertaken by them under such financial assistance; and (d) the mechanism adopted by Government to monitor utilisation of these grants and evaluate the outcomes of such programmes at the community level? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (IC) OF THE MINISTRY OF AYUSH (SHRI PRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) Ministry of Ayush is implementing a Central Sector Scheme namely Ayurswasthya Yojana having 02 components viz. i) Ayush and Public Health and ii) Centre of Excellence (CoE). The main aim of the Ayush and Public Health component of the Ayurswasthya Yojana is to roll out of authentic classical Ayush interventions with following objectives: - • To promote Ayush intervention for community health care. • To demonstrate advantages of Ayush health care in public health. • To support for implementing Sustainable Development Goal-2 (SDG2) and Sustainable Development Goal -3 (SDG 3) through integrating Ayush system. • Documentation of the efficacy of Ayush systems through Ayush interventions in various public health issues which can be taken up in larger scale for implementation in National health programmes.Further, under the scheme, financial assistance is being provided to institutions/organizations, including Non-Governmental and Non-profit organizations working in the area of public health for at least five years and having a proven track record. (b) & (c) The details of the grants sanctioned and released under the Ayush and Public Health component of Ayurswasthya Yojana to various NGOs during the last five years along with the nature of activities is placed at Annexure. (d) Under the Ayurswasthya Yojana, a systematic monitoring mechanism is adopted to ensure proper utilisation of grants and effective implementation of projects. Monitoring teams constituted by the Ministry of Ayush conduct visits to project implementation sites and Grantee institutes/organisations to assess progress. Further, the Project Appraisal Committee (PAC) reviews achievement-cum-performance reports and utilisation certificates before recommending further release of funds. The second and third instalments are released only after acceptance of Utilisation certificate of at least 75% of funds and satisfactory reports. *****ANNEXURE Details of Grants sanctioned and released to the NGOs under the Ayush and Public Health component of Ayurswasthya Yojana during last five years are as follows: S.
