Shri Dinesh Chandra Yadav: Shri Giridhari Yadav: Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government provide financial assistance to the States uniformly under the Old Age Pension Scheme; (b) if so, the details thereof alongwith the amount released during the last five years, State-wise; (c) whether the Government has any data of beneficiaries under the old age pension scheme, State-wise; and (d) if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT (SHRI KAMLESH PASWAN) (a) & (b): The central assistance under the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme of National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) is ₹ 200/- per month per beneficiary for age group of 60 to 79 years and ₹ 500/- per month per beneficiary for age group of 80 years & above. As per guidelines of NSAP, the States/UTs are encouraged to provide top-up amount of at least an equivalent amount to the assistance provided by the Central Government so that the beneficiaries could get a decent level of assistance. At present, the States/UTs are adding top-up amount ranging from ₹ 50 to ₹ 3800 per month per beneficiary under Old age Pension Scheme of NSAP. State- wise funds released under old age pension scheme during the last five years is given at Annexure-I. (c) & (d): At present, as per scheme-wise cap of beneficiaries under the different schemes of National Social Assistance Program Page 1 of 4(NSAP), a total of 2.21 crore beneficiaries are covered under Indira Gandhi National Old age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS) across the country.
