Parliament Question: Financial Performance of Central Public Sector Enterprises

SHRI P P CHAUDHARY: Will the Minister of HEAVY INDUSTRIES be pleased to state: (a) the details of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) functioning under the administrative control of the Ministry and their financial performance during the last three years; (b) the details of profit, loss, turnover and net worth of these CPSEs, company-wise; (c) whether any restructuring, revival or strategic initiatives have been undertaken for loss- making CPSEs; and (d) if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR HEAVY INDUSTRIES (SHRI BHUPATHIRAJU SRINIVASA VARMA) (a) & (b): The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) has 16 operational Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs). The list of these 16 operational CPSEs along with details of profit, loss, turnover and net worth made in the last three years is at Annexure. (c) & (d): A Technical Committee for revival of HMT Machine Tools Limited has been constituted under the Chairmanship of Dr. Vijay Kumar Saraswat to review the operations and financial health of the Company, and recommend restructuring measures.
