(a) whether the Government has received any representation or proposal for establishment
of a Food Processing Park or a Mega Food Park in Chevella Lok Sabha Constituency of
Telangana;
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the action taken by the Government in this regard;
(c) whether the Government has conducted any feasibility assessment or identified
Chevella as a potential location for food processing infrastructure, particularly in view of its
significant horticultural production; and
(d) if so, the timeline and financial assistance proposed in this regard and if not, the steps
being taken by the Government to promote food processing facilities to benefit farmers and
agri- entrepreneurs in the region?

REGARDING FOOD PROCESSING PARK IN CHEVELLA
(a)& (b) Ministry of Food Processing Industries was implementing Mega Food Park
Scheme (MFPS), a component scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana
(PMKSY), from 2008 to 31.03.2021. The scheme has been discontinued by the Government
w.e.f. 01.04.2021 with provision for committed liabilities during 15th Finance Commission
cycle. The scheme functioned with a cluster approach based on a hub and spoke model by
establishing Mega Food Parks with the aim to facilitate establishment of a strong food
processing industry backed by an efficient supply chain including creation of infrastructure for
primary processing and storage near the farm in the form of Primary Processing Centres (PPCs)
and Collection Centres (CCs) and common facilities and enabling infrastructure like roads,
electricity, water, Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) facilities etc. at Central Processing Centre
(CPC). The scheme was demand driven and proposals were invited through Expression of
Interest. Ministry has not received any eligible proposal for the establishment of a Mega Food
Park in Chevella Lok Sabha Constituency of Telangana. The Ministry has already sanctioned
2 Mega Food Park projects in the state of Telengana, the details are at ANNEXURE -I.
(c)& (d) The Ministry of Food Processing Industries has been implementing schemes to boost
food processing industries through infrastructure creation, capacity expansion, and other
supporting measures to benefit farmers and agri-entrepreneurs through Pradhan Mantri Kisan
Sampada Yojana (PMKSY) and Prime Minster Formalization of Micro Food Processing
Enterprises (PMFME) Schemes.
Ministry is implementing central sector umbrella scheme called “Pradhan Mantri Kisan
Sampada Yojana (PMKSY)” since 2017-18 across the country. All component schemes under
PMKSY are demand driven in nature and the proposals under the scheme are invited through
Expression of Interest (EOI). The scheme is not state/region specific. Proposals are invited
from time to time across the country by floating Expression of Interest (EoIs) on the Ministry’s
website. The PMKSY has 5 on-going component schemes including Creation of Infrastructure
for Agro Processing Clusters (APC), Integrated Cold Chain and Value Addition Infrastructure
(ICC), Creation / Expansion of Food Processing & Preservation Capacities (CEFPPC),
Operation Greens (OG) and Setting up/ Up gradation of Food Testing Laboratories (FTL
Scheme) to provide financial assistance for setting up of food processing infrastructure in the
country including the state of Telengana . Under OG Scheme Ranga Reddy District has beenidentified as eligible production cluster for Tomato. The details of projects sanctioned under
PMKSY component schemes in Rangareddy District of Telangana state are at ANNEXURE
II.
Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) is also implementing a Centrally Sponsored-
"Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme" for
providing financial, technical and business support for upgradation of micro food processing
enterprises across the country including Telengana. MoFPI has approved One District and One
product (ODOP) for all 22 districts in the State of Telangana. The details are at ANNEXURE
III
Under Credit Linked Subsidy component of PMFME scheme, loans for 191
beneficiaries have been sanctioned till 31st December 2025 in Ranga Reddy district of
Telangana. Further Seed Capital of ₹ 2.44 crore for 626 SHG members has been sanctioned
