THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES
(SHRI RAVNEET SINGH)
(a) to (c): The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) is promoting the overall
development of the food-processing sector, through its flagship schemes namely the Pradhan
Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme, Pradhan
Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY) and the Production Linked Incentive Scheme for
Food Processing Industry (PLISFPI).
The details of food processing units Sanctioned, Operational, Project Cost and Subsidy
approved along with employment generated in Warangal district under the various schemes of
the Ministry during the last three years, scheme-wise are at Annexure.
To promote food processing industries and value addition to agricultural produce in Warangal
district, the PMFME Scheme provides financial, technical and business support through 35%
credit-linked capital subsidy, Seed Capital support to SHG members, Capacity Building,
Common Infrastructure, and Branding & Marketing assistance.
PMKSY is a Central Sector umbrella scheme aimed at creating modern food processing and
preservation infrastructure, minimizing post-harvest losses, adding value to agricultural
produce and enhancing farmers' income. PMKSY is demand driven in nature and applications
are invited through Expression of Interest (EoI) from all over India including Warangal district.
The funds are not allocated/sanctioned/released State-wise under any of the component
schemes of PMKSY. The proposals received are scrutinized for their eligibility and evaluated
based on the criteria fixed as per the extant scheme guidelines. Merit based approvals are given
to the eligible proposals based on availability of funds
PLISFPI is, inter alia, intended to support creation of global food manufacturing champions
and support Indian brands of food products in international market. The Scheme is operational
for a period from 2021-22 to 2026-27 with an outlay of Rs. 10,900 crores. However, no projects
have been sanctioned under PLISFPI, in Warangal district of Telangana.Ministry promotes the food processing sector and value addition to agricultural produce
through creation of modern processing infrastructure and efficient supply chain management
from farm gate to retail outlet. The interventions support development of storage,
transportation, processing, value addition and other post-harvest infrastructure, thereby
reducing post-harvest losses and wastage of agricultural produce, enhancing processing levels
and productivity, improving value realisation for farmers, and increasing the competitiveness
and export potential of processed food products.
