FUNCTIONING OF APMC MARKETS IN BANSWARA

(a) the number of APMC markets linked to the e-National Agriculture Market (e-NAM)
during the last five years along with the total agricultural trade conducted on this platform in
the country, year, State and district-wise;
(b) the number of APMC markets currently operating in the Banswara Lok Sabha
Constituency along with the number of markets operating under the e-NAM project among
them;
(c) the detailed status of quality testing, weighing machines, internet access and training
in these markets; and
(d) whether the Government proposes effectively implementing e-NAM in all agricultural
markets by opening an APMC market at each block level in the Banswara Lok Sabha
Constituency and develop a specific plan to address the problems faced by farmers and if
so, the time by which it likely to be done and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): 522 mandis have been integrated with the National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) portal
during the last five years. In all, 1,522 mandis have been onboarded on the e-NAM platform
as of 30 November 2025.
As on 30 November 2025, total trade volume of 12.77 crore metric tonnes (MT) of
various agricultural commodities and 54.62 crore units of countable commodities (such as
coconut, betel leaf, sweet corn, lemon, and bamboo) has been recorded on the e-NAM
platform. The State-wise, district-wise and year-wise details of agricultural trade (value andvolume) conducted on the e-NAM platform from FY 2021-22 to FY 2025-26 (up to
November 2025) is available on https://sfacindia.com website under “Forms & Documents”
section.
(b): As per the information received from Government of Rajasthan, two Agricultural
Produce Market Committees (APMCs)-Banswara and Dungarpur-are currently operating in
the Banswara Lok Sabha Constituency, and both are integrated with the e-NAM platform.
(c): As per information received from Government of Rajasthan, each APMC has been
provided with two quality testing machines, two electronic weighing machines, and internet
connectivity with a minimum speed of 5 Mbps under e-NAM. Quarterly training sessions are
conducted by the e-NAM State Coordinator. Over the last five years, 40 training
programmes have been organised, in which 4,027 stakeholders have been trained.
(d): Agricultural Marketing is a State subject, and APMCs are regulated under the
respective State Agricultural Produce Market Committee Acts. e-NAM is a demand-driven
scheme, and integration of existing mandis is undertaken based on proposals received from
State Governments/UTs. No proposal has been received from the Government of Rajasthan
for opening an APMC at each block level in the Banswara Lok Sabha Constituency or for
any specific expansion related to e-NAM.
