(a) the details of the funds allotted to State of West Bengal under various schemes of the
Ministry of Cooperation from its inception till date, district-wise; and
(b) the details of the schemes sponsored or funded by the Ministry of Cooperation along with
the allotment of funds for specific schemes in West Bengal, particularly in Darjeeling and
Kalimpong districts?

(a) to (b): The district-wise details of funds allotted and utilized to State of West Bengal under
various schemes of the Ministry of Cooperation from its inception till date are at Annexure-
‘A’ and Annexure- ‘B’. Further, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC)
doesn’t allocate funds to States/UT’s. However, NCDC plays an important role in promoting,
strengthening and developing farmer cooperatives for increasing production and productivity
and instituting post-harvest facilities across the country, including in West Bengal through
Corporation Sponsored scheme and Schemes of other Ministries being implemented by NCDC.
NCDC provides financial assistance in the form of loans (both Term Loans and Investment
Loans) and subsidy to the cooperative societies for their development. The loan component is
provided from out of NCDC’s own funds while the eligible subsidy is provided after
dovetailing from other Central Sector Schemes. The list of activities assisted by NCDC are
Marketing, Processing, Storage, Cold Chain, Industrial, Distribution of essential consumer
articles through cooperatives, Credit & Service Cooperatives/ Notified Services, Cooperative
Banking Unit, Agricultural Services, District Plan Schemes, Weaker Section Cooperatives,
Assistance for Computerization of Cooperatives, Promotional and Developmental
programmes. The details of the loans disbursed by NCDC district wise since inception in West
