**Executive Summary**
This document is the response from the Minister of State (IC) of the Ministry of AYUSH to Unstarred Question No. 1162 regarding the funds for AYUSH centers, to be answered on February 6, 2026. It provides details of funds sanctioned and spent on research, standardization of medicines, establishment of AYUSH Health and Wellness Centers, and public awareness programs under AYUSH systems. It also presents the current status of AYUSH institutions in Rajasthan and central assistance provided.

* The Ministry has sanctioned Rs. 140.29 Crore and Rs.126.31 Crore in last three years under CSS of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Scheme to "propagation of Ayush" Systems of Healthcare, creation of awareness amongst the citizens about the efficacy of the Ayush systems.
* **Rajasthan Specifics:**
* The current status of Ayush hospitals, dispensaries, colleges, Panchkarma centers and Yoga Institutions in Rajasthan is furnished at Annexure -III
* The State Government of Rajasthan received Rs. 22243.678 lakhs in funds over the last three years.
* These funds were used to upgrade basic infrastructure and provide supplementary medical services, including additional honorarium for staff.
* 1,958 male and 1,958 female Yoga Instructors were made available at 1,958 AAM (Ayush).
* 46 dispensaries in Sawai Madhopur and 52 dispensaries in Tonk were developed as AAM(Ayush).
* Medicines worth ₹1379.69 lakhs were supplied to the Tonk and Sawai Madhopur Lok Sabha constituencies.

Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state:
(a) the details of amount of funds sanctioned and spent at national level of research,
standardization of medicines, establishment of AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres, and
public awareness programs under the Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy
(AYUSH) systems during the last three years along with the concrete results achieved through
these efforts;
(b) the current status of AYUSH hospitals, dispensaries, colleges, Panchakarma centres, and
Yoga Institutions in Rajasthan;
(c) the details of the Central assistance received by the State along with the steps taken by
the Government to address the shortage of human resources and infrastructure; and
(d) the details of special Schemes proposed or implemented in the Tonk-Sawai Madhopur
Parliamentary Constituency for the expansion of AYUSH facilities, establishment of new
AYUSH centres, ensuring the availability of doctors and medicines, and promoting Yoga and
Ayurveda at the local level?

(a) to (d) Ministry of Ayush, Government of India has set up Central Council for Research in
Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS), Central
Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), Central Council for Research in Yoga and
Naturopathy (CCRYN) and Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM). These
institutes are autonomous organizations under Ministry of Ayush for research in Ayurveda,
Siddha, Homeopathy, Yoga & Naturopathy and Unani, respectively and conducting different
research activities through their peripheral institutes available in different parts of the country
and working towards the scientific validation in the concerned system of medicines through
clinical research, drug research, medicinal plants research, fundamental research, literary
research and documentation, extending healthcare services and promotion of Ayush system.The details of Budget allocation and actual expenditure for last three years for different
Councils under Ministry of Ayush is furnished at Annexure-I.
Further, Ministry of Ayush is implementing the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of
National Ayush Mission (NAM) through State/UT Governments and supporting their efforts
for overall development and promotion including establishment of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs
(Ayush) [AAM(Ayush)], and public awareness programs under the Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani,
Siddha and Homoeopathy (Ayush) systems in the country by providing financial assistance
under different activities as per provision of NAM guidelines against the proposals received
through State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs).Under NAM, total grant-in-aid Rs. 255136.036
lakhs is sanctioned as Central share for the States/UTs for the last three years from 2022-23 to
2024-25 and as reported by States/ UTs Rs. 231651.556 lakhs has been utilized. Under NAM,
last three year achievements through these efforts are furnished at Annexure-II.
Furthermore, The Ministry of Ayush has been implementing a Central Sector Scheme
(CSS) namely Ayush Oushadhi Gunvatta evam UttpadanSamvardhan Yojana (AOGUSY) with
Pharmacovigilance for Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani & Homeopathy (ASU&H) Drugs as one of
the components. Under this Scheme Rs. 2.26 Crore sanctioned and 1.786 Crore spent in last
three years against awareness/ sensitization programs, preparing and distribution of IEC
material etc. As a result of these efforts, various cohorts have been sensitized to Ayush
therapeutic approaches, educated on the rational and systematic use of Ayush drugs, and
encouraged to report suspected adverse drug reactions among healthcare professionals
nationwide.
Additionally, Ministry of Ayush sanctioned Rs. 140.29 Crore and Rs.126.31 Crore has
been spent in last three years under CSS of Information, Education and Communication (IEC)
Scheme. The activities in the areas of IEC enabled to fulfil the mandate of "propagation of
Ayush" Systems of Healthcare, creation of awareness amongst the citizens about the efficacy
of the Ayush systems, their cost effectiveness and the availability of Ayush drugs services and
other solutions. Utilizing various communication channels for this purpose and produce IEC
material including digital and audio-video publicity material to achieve the objective of health
for all.
(b) The current status of Ayush hospitals, dispensaries, colleges, Panchkarma centers and Yoga
Institutions in Rajasthan is furnished at Annexure -III.
(c) As per proposal received from the State Government of Rajasthan Rs. 22243.678 lakhs
funds have been released in last three years. These funds facilitated the upgrading of basic
infrastructure (building, furniture, equipment). Additionally, supplementary medical services
were obtained by paying additional honorarium to the staff (Yoga Instructors, CHOs, ASHAs,
ANMs, and Compounders). As reported by State Government, 1,958 male and 1,958 female
Yoga Instructors were made available at 1,958 AAM (Ayush) in the last three years.
(d) Public health being a state subject, primary responsibility for expansion of Ayush facilities,
establishment of new Ayush centres, ensuring the availability of doctors and medicines, andpromoting Yoga and Ayurveda at the local level comes under the purview of the respective
State Government. However, State may avail financial assistance by submitting suitable
proposals through SAAPs. As reported by State Government in the past three years, 46
dispensaries in Sawai Madhopur and 52 dispensaries in Tonk were developed as AAM(Ayush).
At these centers, male and female Yoga Instructors were made available as additional human
resources, and necessary furniture and equipment were provided. Additionally, the
Government District Ayurved Hospital in Sawai Madhopur has been upgraded to a 50-bedded
hospital, with building construction currently underway, at a cost of ₹5 Crores. Furthermore,
the Department has supplied medicines worth ₹1379.69 lakhs to the Tonk and Sawai Madhopur
Lok Sabha constituencies during this period.

(ii) 220 Ayush Hospitals and 2269 Ayush dispensaries have been supported for Up-gradation
of infrastructure and other facilities.
(iii) 1783 PHCs, 675 CHCs and 288 DHs have been supported under co-location for recurring
assistance of medicines and contingency on an average in each year.
(iv) 2048 Ayush Hospitals and 12814 Ayush dispensaries have been supported for supply of
essential Ayush medicines on an average in each year.
(v) 13 units supported for establishment of New Ayush Educational Institutions.
