Will the Minister of FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRIES be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has released over Rs. 3,700 crore to States under the PM
Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM-FME) Scheme to support
micro food enterprises across the country;
(b) if so, the total funds released to the State of Maharashtra and the number of micro food
enterprises benefited;
(c) the key activities supported under the scheme including skill development, technology
upgradation, marketing support and credit facilitation for micro food entrepreneurs in
Maharashtra;
(d) whether any assessment has been made on the impact of PM-FME in Maharashtra in
terms of increasing income, improving market access and promoting local food
products and if so, the details thereof;
(e) the steps taken to ensure timely utilization of funds and proper monitoring of projects
under PM-FME in Maharashtra; and
(f) whether the Government proposes to introduce any additional support measures or
incentives to strengthen micro food enterprises in Maharashtra and other States and if
so, the details thereof?

(a): Under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food processing Enterprises
(PMFME) Scheme, Centre Share of Rs. 4306.40 crores has been released/allocated to States/
UTs for implementation of various components of the scheme till 31st October, 2025.
(b): For the State of Maharashtra, Central Share of Rs. 646.24 crores has been
released/allocated for implementation of various components of the PMFME scheme till 31st
October, 2025.
26,172 micro food processing enterprises have been sanctioned loans for credit linked
subsidy under the PMFME Scheme in the State of Maharashtra.(c): Under the PMFME Scheme, the following activities have been supported in the State
of Maharashtra including skill development, technology upgradation, marketing assistance and
credit facilitation:
(i) Loan for credit linked subsidy has been sanctioned to 26172 micro food processing
enterprises. They are provided financial, technical and business support for setting up of new/
upgradation of micro food processing enterprises.
(ii) Seed capital support sanctioned to 53146 Self Help Groups (SHGs) members for working
capital and purchase of small tools.
(iii) 4 proposals have been sanctioned under Branding & Marketing component for providing
market access / linkages, product standardization, packaging and regulatory compliances.
(iv) Under capacity building component, 35996 beneficiaries have been trained. In addition, 3
incubation centers have been approved for providing common processing facilities to early-
stage startups / innovators and micro food processing enterprises.
(d): Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) has got conducted a third-party mid-
term impact evaluation of the PMFME scheme to assess the impact of the scheme. The study
has highlighted that the integration of technology and financial support through PMFME has
helped entrepreneurs by increasing their production capacity, turn over and business growth,
leading to income generation, market access/linkages and promotion of vocal for local.
(e): Regular review meetings are conducted with States/ UTs, lending banks, State Level
Bankers Committee (SLBC) and other stakeholders for timely fund utilisation and monitoring
the progress of implementation of the Scheme.
(f): MoFPI is working in convergence with various Ministries/ Departments to dovetail the
benefits available under their schemes with PMFME Scheme to strengthen micro food
processing enterprises. Further, micro food enterprises are supported / encouraged for
participation in Exhibitions & Expos, Fairs, Buyer-Seller Meets etc. to strengthen their market
access/linkages. The Ministry has been organizing its flagship event ‘World Food India (WFI)’
wherein over various editions, a large number of PMFME beneficiaries have participated and
exhibited their products in the stalls under PMFME pavilion. The stalls are provided free of
cost to the beneficiaries by the Ministry. WFI provides a platform for the PMFME beneficiaries
to showcase and promote their products to the large number of visiting domestic and
international buyers.
